Alloy diff casing (saves 3.3kg over the cast iron version) and a lowering block, and a GT6 boot-mounted fuel tank to relocate weight further back in the chassis :) Oh, and some LR Freelander wheel studs for good measure :)
Oh, and I weighed the Jaguar Powerlock diff I bought for the XJ40. 48.4kg! No wonder I was knackered after carrying that down to the garage. That's 12kg heavier than the entire gearbox + overdrive on the Triumph!

Yes, that Powerlock is obscene. They're blatantly unmanageable when they're in the cage. My trans is also only about as much as yours - aluminum case, and not the nodular iron Power Brute version.

What kind of a man uses lighter gel in a wood burning stove?

Doesn't that depend on whether you use it before or after the stove is lit? :)

That diff casing is definitely a purty casting.

Holy fuck. That's almost as much as having a dead hooker in the boot.

A dwarf dead hooker would just about do it, or most of a normal-sized one ;)

Lazy people is who....
It's actually quite a clever stove. It's got a water jacket that's plumbed into the central heating system, so you can have it on and it'll heat the whole house, and also the room it's in won't get roasting hot :)

I noticed it was an ecoboiler, cracking little things. I have a thing for wood burning stoves and, perhaps more accurately, wood. Nothing better than splitting a good few rounds with my dogs and a beer!

I strongly believe with my little pickup, being light over the rear axle will... not be a problem with the Jag rear in place. I'm not quite as committed to ultimate lightness as BT228's Spit project.

Well, yes. You'd keep the head, obviously.

Is there a reason for the Jag rear-end other than to cut down on dead-hooker expenditures?

I'd like it to ride just as nice with the hookers as without, mostly. One can't have the hookers present at all times, and crossing state lines raises so many questions...
Less humorously, it takes more weight and more power, gives better brakes, and a smoother ride than what I had - a lightweight Ford compact straight axle affair only equipped to the six-cylinders and barely adequate for that. With its low ratio (4.10) I'd have been able to crack it open with a modern small diesel, let alone a V8.
